How to Apply for the Thai ED Visa

How to Apply for the Thai ED Visa

The required application is in Thai language and is a little difficult to fill out. We have our own questionnaire for you. From the information you provide, along with a copy of your passport, we’ll fill in the blanks on the actual application that we send to the Thai Ministry of Education. The actual application requires some information that can seem a little strange. We assist with getting the correct information the first time around. After we’re done filling out the Thai version of the application, we’ll go over it with you and have you sign it.

How to Apply Locally Here in Chiang Mai

  1. Come in to our school and we'll fill out our enrollment form together.
  2. Bring your passport with at least 2-3 weeks remaining on your current passport visa or visa exemption stamp.
  3. Bring a minimum of 10 visa or passport photos 4x6 cm.
  4. We will process the papers. It usually takes about 3 weeks but sometimes can take up to 4-5 weeks depending on how busy the ED office is.
  5. Return to We Learn Thai Chiang Mai to pick up your completed packet of papers and take them to a Thai Embassy or Consulate in another country.

How to Apply from Outside Thailand or Chiang Mai

  1. Request by email and fill out our enrollment form.
  2. Email the enrollment form along with a scan of each page in your passport. The pictures should be clear, with color 300 dpi minimum please.
  3. After we receive the filled-out enrollment form we will forward them to the Thai Ministry of Education for processing.
  4. Thai Ministry of Education processing typically takes 3 weeks.
  5. After processing, we return the approved complete set of documents to you so that you can apply for your ED visa.

TO START PROCESSING

  1. Complete the enrollment form. Give us your passport to scan.
  2. Pay for deposit 15,000 THB.
  3. We arrange the document to apply for the visa and it normally takes 45 days.

A : Convert Visa in Chiang Mai

  • Come to school with your passport.
  • Pay for visa conversion fee 15,000 THB.
  • Meet us at CM immigration and get you passport back in the same day
  • It takes 21 days to get your visa stamp.
  • Pay the rest of deposit.
  • Get your Non-Immigrant (ED) visa

Here are the total costs calculated for each course option:

  1. One-Year Group Class :   ( 43,500 + 15,000 + 5,700 = 64,200 ) THB
  2. Six-Month Course :   ( 26,000 + 15,000 + 1,900 = 42,900 ) THB
  3. Three-Month Course :   ( 15,000 + 15,000 = 30,000 ) THB
  4. Online Smart Plan :  ( 43,500 + 15,000 + 5,700 = 64,200 ) THB
  5. Premium Private Package :  ( 70,000 + 15,000 + 5,700 = 90,700 ) THB

B : Get Visa from Thai Embassy 

  • After processing, we return the approved complete set of documents to you so that you can apply for your ED visa at Thai embassy.
  • You will need to make an appointment with the embassy OR apply Thai-E visa online.
  • Pay the rest of deposit when you come to Thailand.

  2. Six-Month Course :    ( 26,000  + 1,900 = 27,900 ) THB
  3. Three-Month Course :    ( 15,000  = 15,000 ) THB

  5. Premium Private Package :  ( 70,000 + 5,700 = 75,700 ) THB

Immigration Fees
  • 1. Visa Fee            2,000 THB
  • 2. Extension Fee    1,900 THB
